In the bible’s book of Romans, chapter 8, verses 38-39, there is a very powerful statement that says nothing can separate us from the love of God through Christ Jesus. It goes on to give specific examples such as not death, life, angels, rulers, things present or in the future, powers, heights or depth, nor anything in creation can separate us from God’s love.  As I thought about this, it brought me to the fact that there is no love that I’ve experienced personally by anyone that loves me that much. My parents loved me and I love my children, family and friends but do we all love each other to the point of willingness to die for them? Perhaps you say as I’d like to think that yes, for my children or family I would, but what about your enemy? The one you know hates you or that you hate them? Would you be willing to die to save them? When you think about that kind of love, it is hard to understand how anyone could have it, no matter what reason. We humans have limitations, even with our love for others but God doesn’t as He’s proved that death was no problem to go through as a man to save His human creation from being separated from Him. So, how do you treat the one’s you love? Do you only contact them when you need something? Do you go for days without calling them? When they do something thoughtful, do you say thank you or just keep moving through your life without even thinking how you’ve spent no time at all with them? Do you consistently hurt or mistreat them with regard for their feelings? Think of how you would feel loving someone like that and then think of our Lord and how many of us treat Him that way. Then remember the power of God’s love for us is overwhelming!

Any thoughts on this?

We Christians that follow the life of Jesus Christ know that his ministry lasted about three years before he was crucified by age 33.  According to today’s standards, most people may agree that 33 is too young for anyone to die. However, Jesus had full knowledge of what his mission was before coming to earth and he chose to fulfill it in the time period allotted. You too have a purpose for being on earth and no matter how long you’re scheduled to stay, it is certain that even if you don’t accomplish all that you think you should, death will come for you, at a prescribed time.

We make the sad mistake of thinking that we have a lot of time to fulfill our purpose. We make excuses as to why we can’t do what our hearts have been pulling us to do. We tell ourselves that we’re too old, too young, too fat, too skinny, not the right color, don’t have enough money, etc. etc. etc. Jesus didn’t need to be 80 years old to complete his ministry. What is your excuse for not accomplishing what’s been in your heart to do for years? Just remember that whenever you stop saying no and begin living in the destiny that you were created for, life will become more rewarding.  Then, it shouldn’t matter when death will come because you’ll be busy fulfilling your purpose.

What’s the size of your coffin? Do you know? If not, start getting busy accomplishing your purpose because death waits for no one.
